• March 19: Father Filas preaches a mission at the little St. Nicholas Church, in Winnipeg
• Summer: Father Filas builds the first small Church and residence, at Beaver Lake
• July 12: First solemn celebration of the Feastday of Sts. Peter & Paul, patron-saints of the church in Mundare
• September 9: First Mission preached by the Basilian Fathers at Beaver Lake
• November 11: Second group of Basilian missionaries arrive in Canada: Fathers Matthew Hura and Naucratius Kryzhanovsky; they settle in Winnipeg, November 14

1904

• January 31: Father Matthew Hura becomes pastor of St. Nicholas Church in Winnipeg; Father Kryzhanovsky is assigned to the rural settlements

• March 26: Basilian Father Soter Ortynsky becomes Bishop for Ukrainians (and Carpatho-Rusyns) in the United States

1908

• Father Naucratius Kryzhanovsky established various missionary outposts in Manitoba and Saskatchewan

1909

• September 25: Returning from the Basilian Chapter in Krystynopil, Father Dydyk is accompanied by 3 Basilian Brothers, including Basil Ladyka, who were to compete their studies in Montreal
• December 9: Untimely death of Father John-Chrysostom Tymochko

1910

• January 1: Father Naucratius Kryzhanovsky is transferred to missions in the Mundare area
• August 8: Fathers Naucratius Kryzhanovsky and Matthew Hura bless the corner-stone of Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Mundare, in the presence of Prime Minister Sir Wilfred Laurier
• September-December: Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytsky, OSBM visits Canada and the missions of the Basilians. he consecrates the competed church of Sts. Peter & Paul, Mundare on October 23

1912

• August 4: Father Basil Ladyka is ordained a priest by Bishop Soter Ortynsky, OSBM in Philadelphia
• December 6: Newly-ordained bishop for Ukrainian Catholics (Blessed) Nykyta Budka arrives in Canada. He resides with the Basilians in Winnipeg for three months

1913

• August 3: In Mundare, the solemn celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Canadian Basilian Mission. Bishop Budka in attendance
• July-October: Improvements to St. Josaphat’s Church and construction of new Basilian monastery in Edmonton

1914-1918

• During the First World War, Fathers Kryzhanovsky, Hura and Ladyka organize new parishes and mission-stations throughout Western Canada

1918-1920

• Difficult economic situation for Ukrainian immigrants in Western Canada. Father Naucratius Kryzhanovsky organizes economic outreach

1921

• June 28: Permission from the Roman Apostolic See to open a novitiate (training) centre for Basilian students in Canada. Until this time, Canadians had to study in Ukraine
• July-August: Superior of the Basilian Order, Father Anastasius Kalysh arrives from Galicia to visit Basilian communities and their apostolate
• September-November: Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytsky visits Canada for the second time. He visits Basilian communities and parishes

1922

• May 30: Construction begins of the Basilian Novitiate Monastery in Mundare, designed by Oblate Father Ruh
• August 26: Father Porphyrius Bodnar arrives from Galicia to join the Basilians missions in Canada
• November 5: Father Epiphany Teodorovych arrives from Galicia to join the Basilians missions in Canada

1923

• March 12: Father Naucratius Kryzhanovsky is appointed Superior of the Basilian Mission in Canada
• 28 August: Blessing and opening of the Canadian Basilian Novitiate, in Mundare

1924

• Various missions commemorating the 300th Anniversary of the death of St. Josaphat
• January 3: Father George Zydan arrives from Galicia to join the Basilians missions in Canada
• September-October: Father Josaphat Tymochko makes His Solemn Profession of Monastic Vows, and returns from Galicia to Canada

1925

• January 29: Pioneer missionary and Master of Novices, Father Matthew Hura ,dies in Edmonton

1926

• June 9: Father Sophronius Diakovych, Brothers Adrian Karpa and Passivus Stadnyk arrive from Galicia to join the Canadian Mission

1927

• December 22: Silver Jubilee of the Basilians in Canada. Celebrations in Mundare & other communities

1929

• April 28: Basilian Superior of Edmonton, Father Basil Ladyka, is nominated bishop for Ukrainian Catholics in Canada. He is ordained, July 14, in Edmonton, and enthroned July 21, in Winnipeg

1930

• Fathers begin to teach philosophy to Basilian students in Mundare
• January 18: Father Basil Kamynetsky, Brothers Peter Bodnar and Josaphat Korol join the Canadian Mission of the Basilian Order
• June 16: Father Platonides Filas, first Basilian superior in Canada, dies in Drohobyc, Galicia

1931

• May 24: Father Josaphat Jean is re-admitted to the Order; after serving as a Studite missionary in Quebec. He makes his Solemn Profession on December 22, 1935
• August 8: Father Naucratius Kryzhanovsky is named first Provincial Superior of the newly-created American-Canadian Province of the Basilian Order
• August 16: First Solemn Profession of Vows by Basilians in Canada: Brothers Methodius Hanas, Ambrose Wynnyk, Sylvester Kollar, Matthew Sianchuk, Theodosius Dobko, Adrian Karpa and Passivus Stadnyk

1932

• Fathers begin to teach theology to Basilian students in Mundare
• July 27: A Basilian community is established in Montreal, Quebec
• October 2: First ordination of a Mundare student, Father Theodosius Dobko
• October 4: Father Neil Savaryn arrives from Galicia to join the Canadian mission of the Basilians

1933

• June 12: Building of a monastery near Mundare, situated on farmland at the original site of the first Basilian chapel and residence. It was to serve as a new Novitiate community until 1948
• July 4, October 10: Respectively, Fathers Andrew Truch, Mark Romanovych and Benjamin Baranyk arrive from Galicia to join the Canadian Basilian mission
• August 13: Canadian-born Basilians Sebastian Shewchuk, Ambrose Wynnyk, Irenaeus Protsenty are ordained priests

1934

• June-August: Superior General, Archimandrite Dionysius Tkachuk, makes his canonical visitation of each community of the American-Canadian Basilian Province
• June 21: Father Sophronius Diakovych, Master of Novices 1927-1931, dies in Mundare
• October 7: Fathers Methodius Hanas and Matthew Sianchuk are ordained priests

1935

• October 7: Fathers Nicholas Kohut, Ignatius Lesiuk, Dionysius Dzigolyk and Innocent Richkun are ordained priests

1936

• June 2:Establishment of the Basilian Press in Mundare. The first book published, “Is there a God”. was written by Father Neil Savaryn
• September: Permission from the Roman Apostolic See is granted to adopt the Gregorian Calendar

1937

• March 14: Fathers Sylvester Kollar and Juvenalius Slota are ordained priests
• April 10: Father Basil Kaminecky establishes Holy Family Cemetery, north of Winnipeg
• July-September: Basilian missionaries establish residence in Vancouver and in the Peace River District, British Columbia. On September 7, the Parish of St. Mary’s, Vancouver is given to the pastoral care of the Order
• October 30: Pioneer missionary, Father Athanasius Filipow dies in Mundare

1938

• May 1: First issue of “Svitlo” magazine is published from the Basilian Press, Mundare. Father Mark Romanovych is the first editor
• May 29, October 2: Fathers Athanasius Chimy, Theodosius Greb, Markian Pasichnyk, Isidore Kohut and Basil Skubleny are ordained priests
• August: National Congress on the occasion of the 950th Anniversary of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus is held in Mundare
• October 30: New Basilian Press building is blessed, in Mundare

1939

• July-September: Fathers Nestor Fetsitsa, Christopher Kondratiuk, Bessarion Andrejchuk, Lawrence Dzigolyk are ordained priests
• October: Basilians establish residence in Radway, Alberta

1940

• March 10: Provincial Superior, Father Naucratius Kryzhanovsky dies in Stamford, USA
• November 26: Young student, Father Basil Skubleny dies unexpectedly in Rome
• November 26-28: Provincial Chapter of the American-Canadian Basilian Province, in Mundare. Father Benjamin Baranyk is elected Provincial Superior (Protohegumen)

1941

• August 2: Congress in Mundare to commemorate 50 years of Ukrainian immigration to Canada
• September: Pioneer Father Sozontius Dydyk begins construction of the new St. Josaphat’s Church in Edmonton, designed by Father Ruh, OMI
• November 3: Blessing of the new Basilian residence in Derwent, Alberta
• November: Father Athanasius Chimy becomes rector of St. Josaphat's Seminary, Stamford, USA. He serves until May 1944

1942

• March 8: Fathers Marian Horishny, Polycarp Matviiw, Peter Hewko, Boniface Sloboda, and Bernard Dribnenky are ordained priests
• September 18: Construction begins on a new house of studies-monastery in Grimsby, Ontario
• October 25: Father Ambrose Synyshyn is ordained bishop, auxiliary to Bishop Bohachevsky.
• The Basilian Order is given pastoral care of St. George’s Parish, New York

1943

• May 16: Fathers Sebastian Kurylo, Vladimir Shwechuk, Epiphanius Paschak, Pachomius Dydyk and Victor Soroka are ordained priests in Winnipeg
• June: Basilian theology students are transferred to the newly-completed house of studies monastery in Grimsby Ontario
• July 1: Basilian Superior of Mundare, Father Neil Savaryn, is ordained bishop, auxiliary to Bishop Basil Ladyka

1944

• June 29: Fathers Orest Zacibida, Gregory Chmilar, Eugene Bilyk, Jerome Chimy and Benedict Hrynyshyn are ordained priests
• June-July: Basilians establish residences in Glen Cove and Willingdon, USA
• November 1: Metropolitan Andrei Sheptytsky, OSBM dies in Lviv

1945

• March 15: Father Sebastian Kurylo establishes “St. Josaphat’s Institute” in Edmonton, for University students
• June 10: Fathers Myron Daciuk and Modeste Gnesko are ordained priests in Grimsby
• September 2: St. Josaphat’s Institute, Edmonton is blessed by Bishop Basil Ladyka

1946

• May-December: Refugee Basilians arrive from Europe: Fathers Lysko, Markevych, Reshytylo, Dyrda, Nazarko, Wawryk, Holyk, Fedyniak, Kotovych, Gawlych, Katrij, Lotocky, Ivanyshyn, Syvak and Siutyk
• 17-18 August: Jubilee Congress, commemorating the 350th anniversary of the Union of Brest (1596)
• March: Basilian Fathers in Edmonton build St. Basil’s Institute and establish St. Basil’s Parish on the South Side of the city
• March 16: Basilians in Winnipeg begin the construction of a magnificent third St. Nicholas Church
• Summer: Leadership courses, organized by Fathers Boniface Sloboda & Sebastian Kurylo, were held in Saskatoon
• October 26: St. Basil’s Institute for girls, Edmonton is blessed by Bishop Basil Ladyka

1947

• June 3: Cardinal Eugene Tisserant , Head of the Sacred Congregation for the Oriental Church, blesses the completed St. Josaphat’s Church in Edmonton; he visits Basilian communities across Canada
• July-October: General Vicar of the Basilian Order, Father Hlib Kinach, makes a canonical visitation of the Basilian communities in North America
• June 29: Blessing of the corner-stone of the new Holy Spirit Church in Montreal
• July 2: Fathers Soter Pidskalny, Patrick Paschak, Nicon Swirsky, Vital Pidskalny and Josaphat Skwarok are ordained priests
• Summer: Leadership courses are held each summer in Edmonton, from 1947 to 1951
• November 2: Father Sebastian Kurylo begins a mission on the South Side of Edmonton, at St. Anthony’s School. This event marks the inception of St. Basil’s Parish

1948

• March: The Ukrainian Catholic Church in Canada is divided into 3 Exarchates. Bishop Neil Savaryn becomes Bishop of the Eastern Exarchate, in Edmonton
• March 8: Blessing of the basement-hall of the new St. Nicholas Church, Winnipeg. Later that year, the Oriental Congregation forbids the completion of the church
• July 6: Bishop Neil Savaryn establishes St. Basil’s Parish in South Edmonton. Father Athanasius Chimy becomes the first Pastor
• July 23: The Basilian American-Canadian Province is divided into the Canadian Province of the Sacred Heart and the American Province of the Dormition
• October 5-7: Provincial Chapter of the Canadian Province in Mundare. Father Theodosius Dobko is appointed Provincial Superior (Protohegumen) of Canada. Provincial headquarters is moved in Edmonton

1949

• The Basilian Order in Canada gives-over many parishes and missions to the service of the secular clergy
• Most Canadian Basilian students sent to Rome to study theology, until 1962
• June 5: Saint Basil’s Parish moves into the old St. Anthony’s Latin Rite Church. Protohgumen Father Dobko celebrated the first Liturgy in the new building
• June 11: Father Theodosius Halushchynsky is appointed Superior General-Archimandrite of the Basilian Order
• August 28: Father Raphael Melnyk is ordained a priest
• November: The Basilian establish residence in Toronto. The Basilian Press is transferred there. Father Bernard Dribnenky founds St. Basil’s Parish, Toronto

1950

• August 5: Canadian Prime Minister Louis St. Laurent visits the Basilian Monastery in Mundare, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Canadian immigration to Canada
• August 6: Blessing by Bishop Neil Savaryn of Camp St. Basil’s (Villa) on Pigeon Lake, (Muhurst) Alberta
• September 17: Cardinal Eugene Tisserant, Head of the Sacred Congregation for the Eastern Church, visits the Basilian parish in Vancouver
• December 19: Pioneer missionary, Father Sozontius Dydyk, dies in Glen Cove, USA

1951

• September: The Basilian Study House returns to Mundare for philosophical studies

1952

• August 31: General Superior, Archimandrite Theodsius Halyschysky dies in Mundare, during his canonical visitation of the Canadian Basilian communities
• October-November: 50th Anniversary Celebrations of the Basilians in Canada, in various cities
• December 12: Fathers Leon Yakubow and Peter Hrabec are ordained priests in Rome, Italy

1953

• Father Paul Myskiw is elected Superior General of the Basilians, with the ancient title of Protoarchimandrite
• Father Myron Daciuk becomes Master of Novices in Mundare, serving in that position for eleven years 1953-1964
• The Basilian Fathers Museum is opened in Mundare, due to the efforts of Frs. Josaphat Jean & Orest Kupranec
• July: Father Vladimir Shewchuk is appointed Provincial Superior (Protohegumen) of the Canadian Basilian Province
• July 5: Fathers Eugene Kushko and Cornelius Pasichny are ordained priests in Rome, Italy
• December 11: Tragic death of former Provincial Superior Theodosius Dobko

1955

• May 19: Father Severian Yakymyshyn is ordained priest in Rome, Italy

1958

• Father Boniface Sloboda becomes Provincial Superior (Protohegumen) of the Canadian Basilian Province
• Basilian students begin to attend philosophy classes at St. Paul’s University in Ottawa
• June 24: Father Porphyrius Bodnar, first Master of Novices 1923-1925, dies in Mundare
• August 31: The Headquarters of the Canadian Basilian Province is moved from Edmonton to Winnipeg
• December 18: Father Mark Romnovych, founder of the Basilian Press, dies in Grimsby, Ontario

1960

• June 29: Fathers Isidore Dziadyk, Myron Chimy, Boniface Malowany & Eugene Richlark, are ordained priests in Rome, Italy

1961

• November 22: Metropolitan Maxim Hermaniuk grants permission for Saint Nicholas Parish in Winnipeg to build a new church

1962

• March 25: Fathers Josaphat Konchak, Andrew Kowch, Sylvester Kuzel and Mark Zazula are ordained priests in Rome, Italy by newly ordained bishop Augustine Hornyak, OSBM
• September: Classes begin in the yet incomplete St. Basil’s College in Weston, Ontario

1963

• Spring: Opening of the new House of Studies in Ottawa. Father Victor Soroka becomes the first superior. Canadian Basilians attend philosophy and theology at St. Paul’s University, until 1975
• May 26: Blessing of St. Basil’s College by Bishop Isidore Borecky
• July 21: Father Cyril Mykytiuk is ordained a priest in Rome, Italy
• June ?: Father Athanasius Welykyj is appointed Superior General-Protoarchimandrite of the Basilian Order
• September: St. Gregory of Nyssa residence in Weston becomes a full Monastery

• October 25: Father Augustine Kuzma is ordained priest in Toronto

• First issue of the English language Beacon magazine is printed at the Basilian Press
• July 10: Solemn blessing and official opening of the new St. Nicholas Church, Winnipeg
• September 18: Blessing of the new Provincial headquarters-Monastery in Winnipeg

1967

• April 16: Bishop Neil Savaryn celebrated Liturgy at the newly-completed St. Basil’s Cultural Centre, Edmonton. Liturgies are celebrated there until the completion of the new church
• June 4, September 24: Bishop Neil blesses the new corner-stone; The Apostolic Delegate blesses the new St. Basil’s Church in Edmonton

1968

• New Basilian residence and temporary church-hall built in Vancouver
• April 9: Father Jerome Chimy named Rector of the Pontifical College of St. Josaphat in Rome
• June: Cardinal Josef Slipyj, Major-Archbishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Church visits Canada

1969

• January: Opening of the new Sts. Peter & Paul church in Mundare
• March: Father Athanasius Welykyj, Protoarchimandrite of the Basilian Order, visits Canada
• June 8, 15: Father Justin Ewanchyshyn is ordained priest in Weston, (Toronto) and Father Christopher Zajac is ordained priest in Ottawa
• August 15: Father Anthony Holowaychuk is ordained priest in Edmonton
• The Novitiate is combined with the Basilian House of Studies in Ottawa

1970

• July 1: Father Vital Pidskalny is appointed Provincial Superior (Protohegumen) of the Canadian Basilian Province

1971

• January 30: Father Nicholas Kohut, Provincial Superior of the American Province formerly Master of Novices in Mundare 1941-1943, dies in Astoria, USA

1972

• June 8: Father Josaphat Jean, co-founder of the Basilian Fathers museum, dies in Grimsby, Ontario

1973

• June 3: Brothers-coadiutors Adrian Karpa, Philip Kowalsky and Meletius Ostap are ordained permanent deacons, in Edmonton
• October 7: Father Gregory (Harry) Boretsky is ordained priest in Toronto
• October 31: Father Benjamin Baranyk, former Provincial Superior 1940-1948 and Master of Novices 1935-1941, dies in Mundare

1974

• July 28: Father Josaphat Tyrkalo is ordained priest in Edmonton
• September 5: Father Jerome Chimy, Rector of St. Josaphat’s College in Rome, is ordained bishop of the newly established Eparchy of New Westminster (British Columbia)

1975

• January 1: Protoarchimandrite Athanasius Welykyj approves the establishment of a new novitiate community in Ottawa

1976

• Father Isidore Patrylo is elected Protoarchimandrite (Superior General) of the Order
• Due to lack of vocations Canadian novices are sent to the Glen Cove Novitiate

1977

• Cardinal Slipyj visits Canada for a second time
• Protoarchimandrite Isidore Patrylo visits Canada
• August 28: Father Lawrence Huculak is ordained priest in Vernon, British Columbia.
• December 2: Father George Zydan, Master of Novices in Mundare 1925-1927, dies in Detroit, USA

1981

• Father Myron Chimy is sent to the Novitiate Home in Glen Cove, USA to apprentice as master of Novices

1982

• August 15: Father Raphael Melnyk is appointed Provincial Superior of the Canadian Basilian Province. Father Vital Pidskalny becomes Vice-General Superior in Rome
• September: Novitiate home re-opened in Mundare and blessed by Cardinal Wladyslaw Rubin, Prefect of the Oriental Congregation. Father Myron Chimy becomes Master of Novices. The first candidate is Paul Chomnycky
• October 14: Former Provincial Superior, Father Myron Daciuk, is ordained bishop in Winnipeg
• October 31: The new St. Mary’s Church in Vancouver is blessed by Bishop Jerome Chimy

1984

• Pope John Paul II visits Canada. Basilians take part in the celebrations
• December 9: Father Daniel Wach is ordained priest in Winnipeg
• December 27: Father Meletius Solovey, former Master of Novices & scholar, dies in Edmonton

1985

• May 15: Father Boniface Sloboda, former Provincial Superior and musicologist, dies in Winnipeg

1986

• Cardinal Myroslav-Ivan Lubachivsky, Major-Archbishop of the Ukrainian Catholic Church, visits Canada

1987

• July 25: Father Joseph Pidskalny is ordained priest in Ethelbert, Manitoba
• Completion and blessing of the National Shrine in Ottawa, St. John the Baptist Church

1988

• Millennium of Ukrainian Christianity in Ukraine 988-1988. Celebrations across Canada
• July: Basilian Fathers and their parishioners participate in the Millennium celebrations in Rome, Italy, celebrated by Pope John Paul II and the Ukrainian Catholic Hierarchy
• October 1: Father Paul Chomnycky is ordained priest in Vancouver
• October 16: In commemoration of the Millennium, a magnificent facade-mosaic of Christ is blessed at St. Nicholas Church, Winnipeg

1990

• October 21: The corner-stone is blessed for the new Holy Trinity Church in Vegreville
• December 13: Protohegumen Raphael Melnyk dies in Edmonton. Father Isidore Dziadyk becomes Provincial Vicar

1991

• To commemorate the centenary of Ukrainian Immigration to Canada, the New Basilian Fathers Museum is completed and blessed in Mundare
• September: Bishop Sophronius Dmyterko of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine visits Canada
• September 29: 25th Anniversary of the new St. Nicholas Church (1966) and consecration of the altar by former pastor, Bishop Myron Daciuk, OSBM

1992

• January 16: Bishop Myron Daciuk is installed as Bishop of the Edmonton Eparchy
• June 7: The new Holy Trinity Church in Vegreville is completed and blessed by Bishop Myron Daciuk

1999

• Fall: The newly acquired House of Studies Monastery in Edmonton is blessed by Bishop Lawrence Huculak
• December 5: Pontifical Divine Liturgy commemorating the Centenary of the founding of St. Nicholas Parish, Winnipeg

2000

• Basilian Provincial Chapter in Edmonton. Father Myron Chimy is re-elected Protohegumen.
• December: The iconography in St. John the Baptist Church in Ottawa, begun in the fall of 1999, is completed

2001

• June 10: Pontifical Divine Liturgy and banquet commemorating the Centenary of the first St. Nicholas Church building, Winnipeg
• December 10: Former Vice-General and Provincial Superior Father Vital Pidskalny dies in Saskatoon. He is buried in Winnipeg

2002

• January 27: First two students from the new Basilian House of Studies: Brothers Gabriel Haber & Seraphim Hryhoruk, are ordained to the diaconate, at St. Basil’s Parish, Edmonton
• June 11: Superior of Edmonton, Father Paul Chomnycky is appointed Bishop of Ukrainian Catholics in Great Britain. he is ordained at St. Basil’s Parish, on June 11
• June 29-30: Pilgrimage Vidpust of Sts. Peter & Paul in Mundare. Beginning of the centenary celebrations of the Basilian Order in Canada
• September 1: Brother Dmytro Borovets, originally from Ukraine, make his Solemn Profession of Monastic Vows, in Edmonton
• September 8: Father Gabriel Haber, originally from Ukraine, is ordained priest in Edmonton
• October 27: 75th Anniversary of St. Mary’s Parish in Vancouver; consecration of the altar & church
• November 10: Celebrations of the Centenary of the Basilians in the Edmonton area, at St. Josaphat’s Cathedral

2003

• January 26: Basilian Centennial celebrations at St. Basil's, Edmonton
• June 22: Father Seraphim Hryhoruk, originally from Ukraine, is ordained priest in Vegreville, Alberta
• June 29: Eparchial Pilgrimage (Vidpust) of Sts. Peter & Paul: a statue of Basilian Pioneers missionaries is blessed in Mundare
• October 12: Father Zachary Shwaluk is ordained a priest in Winnipeg
• December 1-7: Basilian Centennial celebrations in Winnipeg: Seven- Day Mission by Basilian Bishops & Priests

2004

• February 9: Basilian Provincial Chapter in Edmonton. Father Eugene Richlark is elected protohegumen. Fathers Cyril Mykytiuk, Daniel Wach, Joseph Pidskalny, are elected provincial consultors; Father Zachary Shwaluk, is appointed provincial secretary & bursar
• February 9: The last Basilian pioneer, Brother Passivus Stadnyk, dies in Mundare, at the age of 97.
• February: Canadian-born Father Gregory Hrynkiw is elected protohegumen of the Ukrainian Province.

2005

• October 1: Monument to pioneer missionary Father Athanasius Filipow, OSBM, commemorating the centenary of his arrival in Canada, is blessed at Holy Family Cemetery, Winnipeg.
• October 9: Centenary celebrations at St. Nicholas- Immaculate Heart of Mary School, founded by Father Matthew Hura, OSBM & Sisters Serrvants of mary Immaculate.
