Youth Group
Young people from Saint Nicholas Church have been involved in the community since its inception. For over sixty years, young parishioners have been members of national and eparchial executives of the Ukrainian Catholic Youth (UCY) of Canada. in it's earlier years, the Youth club membership extended to a much wider age-group, even including young people in their mid and late thirties.
Since the 1960s the Youth group have been comprised mainly of teenagers and young adults in their twenties. Fathers Isidore Dziadyk, OSBM and Daniel Wach, OSBM were very instrumental in maintaining active UCY groups. During the 1990s, a formal Youth Club dwindled and ceased to meet formally, although young people continued to actively participate in the parish within other groups.
In 2000 Joe Coffey and Lisa Dutchak formally re-established the Youth Club at the Parish. Most of the members of our Youth Group attended Pope John-Paul II's World Youth Day in Toronto, in June of 2002.
